LATEST: Aussie movie star HUGH JACKMAN's remake of a popular British TV series has been given the go-ahead in America. The X-MEN star will executive produce and appear in VIVA LAUGHLIN! when it hits TV screens later this year (07). The programme will be inspired by BBC hit series VIVA BLACKPOOL! Jackman's version will concentrate on the trials and tribulations a small-time Nevada casino owner, who dreams of opening up "a snazzy resort" on the Las Vegas Strip. Jackman will guest star in the pilot, which will be directed by THE PURSUIT OF HAPPYNESS moviemaker GABRIELE MUCCINO.

I sincerely hope that his British Fans - like myself get to see him on our TV. He is the most talented actor we have today. We need a good director, with an excellent script with a rousing story with plenty of action and he will do the rest without a doubt. Gracious me if Leonardo DiCaprio can do it Hugh can do so much better. I am waiting to see The Fountain which is in the UK now but only at selected cinemas. His acting in this film has been highly praised but I think the director has gone over board by all accounts and this has clouded the audience seeing the vunerable emotional and heartbreak that is so clearly shown.
