Jack Johnson has held on to the number one spot in the US album chart for the third week in a row.

Sleep Through The Static, the Hawaiian singer-songwriter's fourth studio album, shipped 105,000 copies to stay at the top of the charts, according to Nielsen SoundScan figures.

The number two release, Alicia Keys' As I Am, sold just 53,000 in a week with 13 per cent fewer music sales than the same period in 2007.

Kidz Bop Volume 13 was the highest new entry in the top ten, debuting at number four with 49,000 sold, while country singer Chris Cagle entered at eight with My Life's Been A Country Song.

The soundtrack for dance movie sequel Step Up 2 The Streets climbed five places to fifth while the indefatigable Juno soundtrack held its position at six.

Little Voice, the debut album by singer-songwriter Sara Bareilles, climbed 14 places to seventh, buoyed by the inclusion of her track Love Song on a commercial for the Rhapsody music download service.

Mary J Blige's Growing Pains stayed in ninth, while Taylor Swift fell three places to tenth with her eponymous debut.
