SEAN AVERY - ICE HOCKEY STAR TO SPEND A WEEK IN HOSPITAL

LATEST: Ice hockey ace SEAN AVERY is expected to spend a week in hospital after lacerating his spleen during a playoff game against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Tuesday night (29Apr08).
Avery's publicist has played down reports the sports star, who has dated Rachel Hunter and Elisha Cuthbert, was found unconscious and rushed to hospital, insisting the New York Rangers star was never in danger.
His spokeswoman Nicole Chabot tells People.com, "Sean has undergone procedures to stop his internal bleeding, and is awaiting results from his doctors.
"Doctors expect he'll make a full recovery, but will be keeping him in the hospital for a week."
