LATEST: Fans of WHITNEY HOUSTON have snapped up items of pop memorabilia after hundreds of the singer's personal items were auctioned off to pay her debts. New Jersey storage company, Speed Of Sound, applied for a court order to sell Houston's belongings after the ONE MOMENT IN TIME star's company Nippy Inc reportedly failed to pay costs of $150,000 (GBP76,000). Bidders snatched up designer clothing from Houston's 1999 My Love Is Your Love tour, including a Versace beaded catsuit, several velvet jumpsuits with the star's insignia, and 13 Dolce + Gabbana bras. A clear Schimmel grand piano, worth $292,500 (GBP150,000), was purchased by an antiques dealer from Mississippi for a bargain price of $20,000 (GBP10,300), while 16 music awards presented to Houston's estranged husband BOBBY BROWN went for $400 (GBP206). Other items sold in the auction include a keyboard, drum kits, a forklift, a concert stage set and sound equipment. At the news of the auction last week (03JAN07) Houston's publicist, NANCY SELTZER, said, "It is not unusual for an artist to sell off old equipment and costumes no longer needed. "She is selling equipment, as many artists do, that is out of date."
