LATEST: Former NEW ORDER bassist PETER HOOK is threatening to sue his ex bandmates for continuing with the band despite his assertions they've split. Hook first revealed the group was finished during an interview in May (07), citing frontman Bernard Sumner's work with dance act Electronic as the reason for the disbandment. However, Sumner and drummer Stephen Morris fired back at the claims earlier this month (Jul07), insisting Hook's announcement was made without consulting either of them - and that New Order still exists. Now Hook retorts on his MySpace page, "This group (New Order) has split up! You are no more New Order than I am! You may have two thirds, but don't assume you have the rights to do anything 'New Order-ey', because you don't. I've still got a third! But I'm open to negotiation." He concluded the statement with the threat, "See you in court!"
