HESTON'S ALLEGED THIEF SENTENCED TO JAIL
A woman accused of stealing money from the late CHARLTON HESTON has been sentenced to more than five years in jail.
Sharon M. Walker, 56, gained access to Heston and his wife's financial information after working at a business management firm, where she was a manager.
She allegedly used her position to embezzle $158,000 (GBP79,000) from the acting legend's account, plus another $568,000 (GBP284,000) from The A-Team TV producer Stephen J. Cannell.
Prosecutors claim she forged signatures to pay her credit card debts for six years between 1999 and 2005.
Appearing at Los Angeles Superior Court on Friday (20Jun08), Walker pleaded no contest to two counts of grand theft and one count of tax evasion.
A judge sentenced her to time behind bars, as well as ordering her to pay back almost $82,000 (GBP41,000) in unpaid taxes.
