HELTAH SKELTAH RAPPER CHARGED WITH ATTEMPTED MURDER

Rapper ROCK of hip-hop duo HELTAH SKELTAH has been charged with attempted second degree murder. The star, also known as Da Rockness Monstah, was arrested on Tuesday (15Jan08) after a pimp - who had links to the infamous Bloods gang of the West Coast of America - was shot in New York. Rock - real name Jamal Bush - was charged with attempted murder and assault charges in the first degree and remanded in custody after appearing in court on Friday (18Jan08). Bush's lawyer, Kenneth J. Montgomery tells SOHH.com, his friends and family are making arrangements to post his $125,000 (GBP62,500) bail. He says, "He should be home next week on the bail package," A trial is expected to begin within six to nine months. If convicted, lawyers predict Bush could be jailed for 25 years.
