Entrepreneur HUGH HEFNER was forced to sell his furniture to build his Playboy empire - because at the time, he had just $600 (GBP300) to his name.
The business started out as an adult magazine in 1953, with the 82-year-old later expanding the brand into a multi-million dollar enterprise with its own fashion and jewellery range.
But Hefner is keen to remember his humble beginnings.
He says, "The launch of Playboy: I started with $600 of my own money. I hocked my furniture, using it as collateral. And got $8,000 from investors. It's now worth $200 million."
