HARRY POTTER - HARRY POTTER FILM TOPS US BOX OFFICE

The fifth film about J K Rowling's boy wizard and his adventures at Hogwarts, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, has displaced Transformers at the top of the US box office after racking up an impressive total of $140 million (£68.75 million) five days after its release.
The latest film which sees Harry form 'Dumbledore's army' to prepare for the evil Lord Voldemort's return has already surpassed the opening week totals of the first three films in the franchise.
Brisk business was reported around the world as the film's worldwide takings reached $330.3 million (£162.1 million).
Speaking about the reasons behind the film's booming business, Warner Brothers domestic distribution president Dan Fellman said: "Our Wednesday opening was a great move.
"We've never had the ability before to open a Potter movie when all the kids were out of school. We certainly have the potential now for Phoenix to become one of the largest-grossing [in the franchise]."
Rowling's seventh and final novel, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," will be released on July 21st, and work on the sixth movie is underway.
Alien robot film Transformers also continued to do well at the box office with $223 million (£109.5 million) in ticket sales making it director Michael Bay's most successful movie ever.
Transformers is the fifth movie released in 2007 to cross the $200 million mark.
Pixar's Ratatouille, an animated film about a food-loving rat, action packed Die Hard sequel, Live Free or Die Hard, and romantic comedy Licence to Wed complete this week's top five at the US box office.
