HAIRSPRAY - HAIRSPRAY ON ICE?

HAIRSPRAY creator JOHN WATERS has been offered the chance to turn the hit movie and musical into a ice show spectacular. Waters wrote and directed the 1988 movie which has since spawned a 2007 remake and now a Broadway and West End hit musical. The star made a joke about an a ice show based on the story on a U.S. talk show - and his remarks were taken seriously by investors keen to capitalise on its popularity. Waters reveals, "I joked on the Daily Show that I wanted Hairspray to be an ice show, and the next day, two producers called and said, 'Let's do it.'"
