GRIFFITHS AND JORDAN NAMED PANELISTS FOR LEDGER SCHOLARSHIP
Actress RACHEL GRIFFITHS and moviemaker GREGOR JORDAN are to front a new panel which will decide who benefits from a new HEATH LEDGER scholarship.
The two celebrities will join other famous Aussies in Hollywood to dish out the Australians In Film Heath Ledger Scholarship to worthy causes and individuals.
Australians In Film president Susie Dobson has revealed the individual benefactors of the Ledger Scholarship to date include fellow actors Hugh Jackman and Deborra Lee Furness, Nicole Kidman, Naomi Watts, and Ledger's ex-girlfriend Michelle Williams.
The panel also features Steve Alexander, who was Heath Ledger's U.S. agent and Ann Fay, who cast him in one of his earliest roles.
Meanwhile, Jordan directed him in two films and Griffiths co-starred with Heath in Jordan's Ned Kelly.
The inaugural 2009 scholarship of $10,000 (GBP7,140) plus return airfare from Australia will be awarded to one emerging Aussie actor to pursue their career in the U.S.
The winner will be announced in February (09) at an event in Los Angeles.
