KATHY GRIFFIN - GRIFFIN MARRIES COUPLE

Comedienne KATHY GRIFFIN jetted from Los Angeles to New York at the weekend (09Mar08) to marry two die-hard fans. Brian Anstey and Elka Shapiro asked the flame-haired funnywoman to officiate at their wedding, because they bonded over a mutual love of her comedy act. And they were stunned when she agreed to be ordained and attend the Queens ceremony on Sunday. Griffin, 47, says, "The request came in, and how could I say no?" After a 10 minute ceremony littered with expletives, Shapiro said, "Neither of us is affiliated with any particular religion, and the major factor in our relationship is the laughter. Kathy was fantastic and had us all in hysterics during the ceremony. "We are so lucky that she agreed to marry us because it's so unusual and something we'll always remember."
