GREASE - GREASE THEATRE STARS INJURED

The two leading stars of a Dutch production of GREASE are recovering from injuries after a car prop plunged into the orchestra pit. JIM BAKKUM and BETTINA HOLWERDA, who play DANNY ZUKO and SANDY OLSSON respectively, were sitting in a modified convertible on the stage of the Almere Theatre, in Almere, just east of Amsterdam, when the accident occurred. Bakkum suffered from concussion, while Holwerda broke her arm. Theatre director PETER SWINKELS says, "Jim was driving. She was able to jump off before it went over the edge, and Jim went down with the car."
