GRAZER OUT AT TIMES; NOW, SO IS SECTION HE EDITED

Not only will producer Brian Grazer not be able to become a citizen-editor of the Sunday opinion section of the Los Angeles Times -- neither will anyone else. In fact, the newspaper announced Monday that it will do away with the section as a separate entity and combine it with the paper's Sunday book review section. Grazer's selection as guest editor resulted last week in the resignation of Andrés Martinez, the newspaper's editorial page editor, following revelations that Martinez was involved in a romantic relationship with a woman who worked for the PR firm representing Grazer. Last Sunday's opinion section, which had been edited by Grazer, was yanked at the last moment by Publisher John Hiller. Over the weekend, it was disclosed that Hiller was a close friend of former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, who reportedly was to have been the next guest editor of the section.
