GOSLING PAYS TRIBUTE TO TEACHER MUM

THE NOTEBOOK star RYAN GOSLING's new role as a teacher in HALF NELSON is a tribute to his mum, who put her own life on hold to teach the actor. The movie star admits he learned all about teaching from his patient mother, who took charge of his studies as he embarked on a film career. He says, "She had a real impact on me. In a lot of ways I pulled from that experience to play a teacher. She just related to me as an equal and it changed my perspective on a lot of things. This is a tribute to her."
