RICKY GERVAIS - GERVAIS BOWS TO PRESSURE FROM EXTRAS FANS

British comedian RICKY GERVAIS has been forced to re-issue the DVD of his EXTRAS Christmas special after U.S. fans complained they were being financially exploited. The show, which aired in America over the festive season, was released for home viewing in a boxset along with the first two series of the comedy. However, the move sparked anger from fans who refused to pay the $60 (GBP30) price tag to get hold of a copy of the final show because most of them already owned all of the other episodes. Gervais has now conceded the move wasn't fair on viewers and has vowed to resolve the problem with broadcaster HBO by persuading them to issue the Christmas DVD separately. He says, "I had a word with them (HBO) and they are going to release the special now. We haven't got a date yet but the finale will be available by itself."
