GARNER'S DAUGHTER: 'DAD'S FINE'
The daughter of beloved actor JAMES GARNER has assured fans her father is "doing fine" after recent photographs of the frail star sparked concerns for his health .
Garner was snapped visiting a Beverly Hills, California hospital, looking gaunt and distant, but his author daughter Gigi insists the pictures are deceiving.
She says, "He had a stroke on May 9th but he's doing well. He's doing really well in fact. He's perfect."
The 80-year-old star, who spent three weeks in hospital after undergoing surgery following his stroke, was photographed clutching a cane as a nurse and his driver helped him into a wheelchair.
His representative says, "Jim was at the medical centre for a routine outpatient check up with his doctor."

Blessings, Mr. Garner,
I have been a fan for years- now, in my retirement, I am again enjoying your
'Maverick' series on ENCORE (Western) through Channel # 202, Cox TV, Oklahoma
City.
Our state is fortunate to have your persona and good will celebrating our
downtown Norman, Oklahoma with the James Garner Passage. Your genuine winsome
smile and gracious spirit is a tribute to the wonderful performances and
respectful craft you have portrayed in your career. Your career has endeared
you to Oklahomans and the world. It just seems 'natural' to call you, 'Jim',
although I will resist that temptation as I wish to express the respect you
deserve from one who has not had the occasion to meet you.
Blessings and prayers for your continued health and joy! Please be good to
yourself as the laughter reflected in your acting has been very good to
millions who celebrate your many distinguished movies, series and portrayals.
Oklahoma wishes you well!
Respectfully,
dansden,
retired United Methodist clergy,
Oklahoma City
