OASIS rocker NOEL GALLAGHER has slammed hip-hop star JAY-Z for daring to headline Britain's legendary Glastonbury festival - insisting he is not rock 'n' roll enough.
The Live Forever guitarist is blaming the rapper for the lack of tickets sold at this year's (Jun08) event, which managed to shift just 100,000 passes on the first day.
The Wonderwall hitmaker has accused organisers of the event, which normally sells out in a matter of hours, of steering the festival too far away from its rock 'n' roll roots.
He says, "If it ain't broke don't fix it.
"If you start to break it then people aren't going to go. I'm sorry, but Jay-Z? No chance.
"Glastonbury has a tradition of guitar music and even when they throw the odd curve ball in on a Sunday night you go 'Kylie Minogue?'
"I don't know about it. But I'm not having hip hop at Glastonbury. It's wrong."
Oasis headlined the main stage at Glastonbury in 1995 and 2004, with the event selling out on both occasions.
