FURRY'S GRUFF IN VEGETABLE COLLABORATION
SUPER FURRY ANIMALS and NEON NEON frontman Gruff Rhys has made a guest appearance on the new album by MISTY'S BIG ADVENTURE.
Rhys can be heard munching vegetables on the track Lunch, from the band's new album TELEVISION PEOPLE.
The reference stems from similar sound effects that Paul McCartney recorded first on THE BEACH BOYS 1967 track Vegetables and then on the SUPER FURRY ANIMALS song Receptacle For The Respectable in 2001.
Misty's Big Adventure's frontman Grandmaster Gareth told NME.COM: "We wanted to carry on the vegetable relay started by Brian Wilson when making Smile. He got Paul McCartney to eat vegetables on it.
"When we realised we needed some chomping on our track Lunch we figured we wouldn't be able to get McCartney, but Gruff might be up for it.
"We met in Camden, went to a vegetable shop, picked out the crunchiest looking carrots, then went and recorded in a cafe nearby."
TELEVISON PEOPLE was released yesterday (October 6th).
