FRIEL'S WEIGHTY REFUSAL

British actress ANNA FRIEL found it hard to find work when she moved to the U.S. - because she refused to lose weight for roles.
The naturally slender star landed the lead role in hit drama series Pushing Daisies in 2007, but the 31-year-old admits it had previously been a struggle to land a job in America - because she didn't want to slim down.
And Friel insists that when one TV chief ordered her to cut doughnuts out of her diet, she turned him down.
She says, "I told him he could have me or a model without a brain. The obsession with weight today is just incredible. Curves have gone out of the window and I don't understand it."
