FRANZ FERDINAND AND KAISER CHIEFS JOIN OXJAM

FRANZ FERDINAND, KAISER CHIEFS and GOLDFRAPP have announced they will be joining in at the UK's biggest-ever live music charity event - Oxjam. The charity extravaganza will last for a month with more than 2,500 live events planned across the country. Kaiser Chief frontman RICKY WILSON is urging music fans to support the event, which is being organised by British charity Oxfam in aid of the Make Poverty History campaign. He says, "This new festival will keep up the momentum of Live 8. "Whether it's shaking a tambourine, dancing until dawn or forming a band on the spot, please sign up and make a noise." Goldfrapp singer ALISON GOLDFRAPP is delighted to be involved in the project. She says, "We are playing lots of big festivals across Europe this summer (06), but Oxjam is different - it's a month-long festival where everyone can join in. "Anyone, can be a part of it and help make poverty history through making some noise."
