British rockers FOALS have been forced to cancel a date on their U.K. tour after frontman YANNIS PHILIPPAKIS injured his foot on stage. The accident happened at a concert in Wrexham, Wales, on Tuesday (03Dec07), resulting in an axed gig in the city of Carlisle, England on Wednesday (04Dec07). Writing on the band's MySpace page, keyboardist Edwin Congreave says: "Yannis smashed up his foot in Wrexham in an onstage incident that can only be described as 'gooberish'. It looks a bit like a clown's nose. A clown's nose full of blood, pus (sic), and coarse Greek hair." This isn't the first time the five-piece have cancelled on their Carlisle fans - they were left disappointed when a Foals show was scrapped in October (07) in order to sort out the band's travel visas. Congreave adds, "This is the second time we've cancelled in Carlisle. To say that we're apologetic and embarrassed is something of a redundant understatement. We're really sorry."
