FLOWER POWER AS BEATLE'S WIFE OPENS GARDEN
Late BEATLE GEORGE HARRISON's wife OLIVIA and his former bandmate RINGO STARR thrilled plant lovers at London's Chelsea Flower Show on Monday (19May08) as they launched a new garden tribute to the
green-fingered rocker.
Harrison, who died in 2001, was an avid gardener, and his widow insisted he would have truly appreciated the horticultural honour at the 2008 flower show.
She said, "He always told me his first garden was his father's vegetable patch... He always said, `One day I will have my own garden.'"
Yvonne Innes designed the Garden For George using 76 species and varieties of flowers, which were designed to represent the beloved rocker's spiritualism and musical career.
Another guest at the garden launch, Beatles producer Sir George Martin, said, "It's completely George, it's wonderful."
