FLAGS OF OUR FATHERS star ADAM BEACH credits JOHNNY DEPP with keeping him out of jail because the movie icon gave him the spark to turn his back on a life of crime and try acting. The Canadian actor admits he ran with gangs and found himself in a lot of trouble as he turned to crime after his parents both died in a two-week period when he was just eight. But an episode of 21 JUMP STREET, starring Depp, made him realise there was a better life for him. He recalls, "I started watching Johnny Depp. I know he's affected a lot of people, but he really changed my life because I was in the whole gang scene, I was a statistic... and here I saw a man performing these great characters in high school. "I wanted to be those different characters. I wanted to run away from who I was."
