THE SOUND OF MUSIC - FISHER RETURNS TO THE SOUND OF MUSIC

LATEST: THE SOUND OF MUSIC star CONNIE FISHER has returned to her role as MARIA in the London stage show after two weeks off due to illness. Fisher was cast in the role after winning British TV talent show HOW DO YOU SOLVE A PROBLEM LIKE MARIA? last year (06), but was forced to pull out of the production after straining her vocal cord earlier this month (MAR07). She missed a string of performances when doctors ordered her to withdraw from the West End musical. However, Fisher will now perform six times a week instead of eight, with AOIFE MULHOLLAND taking over on Monday nights and Wednesday afternoons. A spokesperson says Fisher is "thrilled to be back on stage".
