THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS - FAST AND THE FURIOUS: TOKYO DRIFT HOLDS UK TOP SPOT
THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS: TOKYO DRIFT continues to sit atop the UK and Irish box-office chart for the second weekend in a row. The third installment in the racing car franchise took GBP1 million ($1.8 million), while second placed movie THE LAKE HOUSE, starring SANDRA BULLOCK and KEANU REEVES, took GBP760,000 ($1.37 million). THE DA VINCI CODE climbed back up the charts from fifth place to take the number three spot, while X-MEN: THE LAST STAND dropped down to number four. Rounding out the top five is KEN LOACH's THE WIND THAT SHAKES THE BARLEY, even though the award-winning film is only being played on 105 screens throughout the UK and Ireland - three times as few screens as the other movies in the top five. JET LI's latest martial arts movie, FEARLESS, is the only new entry into the top ten this week, at number six.
