MARION COTILLARD - FAMILY GROUP LEADER CALLS FOR COTILLARD TO BE STRIPPED OF OSCAR

The leader of a U.S. family group is calling for Academy Awards bosses to strip MARION COTILLARD of her Oscar - for calling the 9/11 terrorist attacks a fake. Pastor Robert Westman of watchdog group Options was left stunned by comments the French actress made about the collapse of the World Trade Center, which appeared on the internet in the days following her Best Actress Oscar win last month (Feb08). In the piece, which was filmed a year ago (07), Cotillard called the attacks a hoax and claimed the World Trade Center towers were destroyed to avoid costly repairs. Cotillard has since claimed her comments, which were made on French TV show Paris First, Paris Last, were taken out of context - but that's not enough for Pastor Westman. He tells America's the Globe, "Marion Cotillard proves to be just another idiot lefty-actor and ugly French woman trashing America. "She insults our country, calls us serial liars... and then expects us to honour her with an Oscar. Take away her trophy."

This guy should apologize to Marion Cotillard if the facts come to light that there
was more to the events of September 11, 2001 than what is commonly known.
There is no Pastor Westman and no group Options. You guys should not be publishing
stuff without vetting it first. You should at least have tried to reach "Pastor Westman"
to interview him yourself; you would have found out this was a hoax. YOU owe Marion Co
tillard an apology, and I suggest you remove this nonsense from your website; you're
just perpetrating the slander on the web info lists. By the way, forget ever asking
the Academy to "take back someone's Oscar." It's a democratically voted on award for acti
ng performance, not a politically correct award -- even had Cotillard said what the
rightwing posters claimed, which she did not.
