MARIANNE FAITHFULL - FAITHFULL DESPERATE TO QUIT SMOKING

Cancer survivor MARIANNE FAITHFULL is desperate to give up her lifelong smoking habit now she's been given a new lease of life.
The singer and actress was forced to postpone her world tour when she was diagnosed with the disease last September (06) - but was given the all-clear from doctors at the end of 2006.
However, she's worried that continuing to smoke cigarettes could jeopardise her new-found health.
Faithfull says, "I know we all die sometime, but I would like not to be stupid about it. I hardly drink and don't do drugs but I do smoke.
"I've tried everything to give up - hypnotism, acupuncture, patches - and I've read ALLEN CARR's book on how to stop smoking. But I've been smoking since I was 19, and so far nothing has worked. But I'm determined to kick it.
"I'm going to take a new pill when I get back to Paris to get off cigarettes. I've just turned 60, I am a singer and I am still smoking. How stupid is that? But I've been very fortunate - I have been given another life to live."

I am now 75 years old and I gave up smoking 40 years ago. At that point I
smoked 60 cigarettes per day.
How did I stop? I followed this sequence:-
1. I asked a simple question who am I?
Am I my body? Am I my inner being?
2. I ultimately reached the view that my inner being is in control of my
mind and my body. Therefore I can give my mind and my body clear instructions
such as I will never, ever smoke again no matter how tempting any bribe may be
to try to make me change this decision.
3. Thus I quit and to re-inforce the act of quitting I threw away an
unopened pack of 20.
So just tell your mind to carry out your instructions and not to think that it
is in control. You do not need any other action. This one really works. You
can make your body do anything you truly desire. Just think (mind controls
body and inner being (soul/sprit or whatever you think appropriate to call it;
that is what is truly in charge and is the real you).
May God bless you.
