ARCTIC MONKEYS - EX-ARCTIC MONKEY LEADS NEW BAND

Former ARCTIC MONKEYS bassist Andy Nicholson has revealed his new band, MONGREL, whose new album could feature guest appearances from Pete Doherty and MIA.
The band is led by Nicholson, who left the Arctic Monkeys in 2006, with Jon McClure and Joe Moskow of REVEREND AND THE MAKERS, BABYSHAMBLES guitarist Drew McConnell, London rapper Lowkey and ARCTIC MONKEYS drummer Matt Helders completing the outfit
Speaking to Billboard, McClure said Mongrel's sound is a mix of rock, dance and hip-hop.
"I'm the singer, Lowkey raps and then we've got a few features from other people. We had Saul Williams come in and do a thing on it and hopefully MIA is going to do something and maybe Pete Doherty. It's got a good flavour," he said.
He added that the band are "taking a few people to task" on the record, saying that it is "kind of like we're PUBLIC ENEMY or something".
ARCTIC MONKEYS frontman Alex Turner is reportedly working on a track for crooner Tony Christie's forthcoming album.
