EVERCLEAR TO PLAY GUANTANAMO BAY

Rockers EVERCLEAR are to perform for 6,000 U.S. troops and their families at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba on Memorial Day (26May08).
The band has added the naval base concert to their upcoming spring/summer (08) tour, together with a show at the Marine Corps base at Kaneohe Bay, Oahu on 6 July (08) - where they'll celebrate Independence Day (04Jul07) with troops.
Frontman Art Alexakis says, "These two (gigs) are important to the band. There are folks in uniform all over the world, and at home, looking out for us.
"To play for them is an honour. Not a bad way to spend the holiday weekends."
