Rocker MELISSA ETHERIDGE has lashed out at Hollywood's skinny stars because they continue to promote the sick message that rich and thin equals success and happiness. The singer/songwriter admits it's bad enough seeing the waifs on TV, but when she meets them in person at parties and launches, she cannot believe how skinny they are. She says, "Britney (Spears), Lindsay (Lohan), Paris (Hilton)... We watch these actors get skinny, skinnier and skinnier. You meet them in person and cannot believe how really skinny they are, because the pictures add weight and it's frightening and scary. "I start thinking about our society and how sad it is that we're telling these women if you are thin enough and make enough money, then you'll be happy. "That's the biggest lie in the world."
