Elle Macpherson has split from her Strictly Come Dancing contestant boyfriend Ray Fearon.

The 43-year-old Aussie model, dubbed 'The Body' for reasons that are obvious to those of even the meanest intelligence (see picture), became romantically linked to former Coronation Street star Fearon during his time on the BBC dancefloor last autumn.

Both of them have insisted their relationship is just friendly, claims widely dismissed by eager tabloid journalists everywhere.

Now a source has told the Sun that their non-relationship has come to a tragic end.

"Elle and Ray aren't together any more. They just realised things weren't working out so they called it a day. There's no hard feelings on either side and they are still friendly," the insider said.

Macpherson has been romantically linked to many men in the past, including Al Pacino, Colin Farrell and Arpad Busson.

In February she sparked panic among unattractive females everywhere by claiming to Esquire magazine that she was finding it so difficult to get a man she had been celibate for almost two years.

"I don't do flings because relationships are important to me," she said at the time.
