MAGGIE SMITH - EGERTON: 'MAGGIE SMITH IS TERRIFYING'

British actress TAMSIN EGERTON was terrified of her KEEPING MUM co-star DAME MAGGIE SMITH - because she seemed to have a split personality. The St. Trinian's star - who was just 16 when she filmed the 2005 comedy with the veteran Oscar winner - admits she was chilled by Smith's mercurial character, finding she would lavish praise on her one day and avoid her the next. She says, "Dame Maggie Smith was a little frightening. She was quite up and down - one moment saying, 'Oh, you are delicious' and kissing me on the cheek and the next minute totally ignoring me." But Egerton, 19, wasn't offended by the 72-year-old's bizarre behaviour on set because she is such an established talent. She adds, "I think if you are an actress like that - she has had so much success - you can do what you bloody well like."
