MICHAEL EAVIS - EAVIS THANKS SOAKED GLASTONBURY ATTENDEES
Glastonbury Festival organiser MICHAEL EAVIS has thanked the 177,500 people who attended this year's (07) event for refusing to let heavy rain dampen their spirits.
Music fans attending the three-day festival (22-24Jun07) in Somerset, England have been left soaked by torrential downpours.
But Eavis has praised their resilience.
He says, "(It's) gone very, very well, in spite of the rain and mud. It's a pity about the rain, but it seems to be a regular feature of the English summer, so the festival compensates for it.
"Someone phoned me from Spain and said they would swap all the sun for the Glastonbury culture."
