CLINT EASTWOOD - EASTWOOD GETS THE GOLDEN BOOT

CLINT EASTWOOD has been presented with the Founders Award from the Motion Picture and Television Fund Golden Boot committee for his contributions to Western movies. The screen veteran, who has previously received the Golden Boot for his acting achievements, is the second director to win the Founders Award after THE SEARCHERS film-maker JOHN FORD. Eastwood was presented the gong by MORGAN FREEMAN at the Saturday (12AUG06) night ceremony. Other honorees include actors ANN-MARGRET, JOAN LESLIE, POWERS BOOTHE and WES STUDI. The Golden Boot Awards were established to recognise individuals who have furthered the Western genre of films.
