KIRK DOUGLAS - DOUGLAS VISITS TRAGIC SON'S GRAVE WEEKLY

Movie icon KIRK DOUGLAS and his wife ANNE make a weekly visit to their late son ERIC's grave - in a bid to seek closure about his drug overdose death. The Spartacus star, 90, and his wife have never come to terms with the 46-year-old's death in 2004. Eric was found dead on the floor of his New York apartment after guzzling a cocktail of painkillers and tranquillisers. The family transported his body back to Los Angeles, where Eric was buried. Douglas tells U.S. tabloid the Globe, "On occasions when my wife and I visit him, we sit on a park bench and talk to him. Some thoughts are happy and some thoughts are sad. "These visits bring us closer to Eric and help us endure the tragedy." And the acting legend reveals he'll never forgive himself for not being there with his troubled son during his final hours. He adds, "I was not there, and that haunts me to this day... Maybe he did it (overdosed) to reach out for me and I was not there. I'm sorry I never came."
