PETE DOHERTY - DOHERTY DISQUALIFIED FROM DRIVING

LATEST: Troubled rocker PETE DOHERTY has been fined GBP300 ($600) and banned from driving for two months after a London court found him guilty of a catalogue of road offences. The BABYSHAMBLES frontman was arrested on 19 November (06) when police officers saw him driving his car erratically near his east London home. He was then charged with failing to produce driving documents, driving with no insurance, driving a car with no MOT and driving a car while failing to comply with driving licence conditions. The London court dished out his punishment today (13FEB07) and warned the singer he faces jail if he is caught driving without a licence again. Doherty accepted the charges but blames his management for not renewing his insurance. Defence lawyer, SEAN CURRAN, says, "Mr Doherty accepts that he was driving with no licence and insurance. "He had left the task of getting an insurance policy in the hands of one of his managers, who hadn't done so."
