DOCTOR WHO COSTUME SELLS FOR 12 TIMES MORE THAN EXPECTED
An outfit worn by DOCTOR WHO star TOM BAKER on the legendary sci-fi show has been bought for GBP24,600 ($48,000) at auction, 12 times what organisers expected it to fetch.
The 73-year-old's trademark brown tweed trousers, burgundy coat and striped scarf were sold at Bonhams auction house in London earlier today (06MAR07).
Baker starred as Doctor Who in 173 episodes of the BBC TV drama between 1974 and 1981.
Also auctioned was a pair of BATMAN and ROBIN costumes once worn in a festive episode of long-running British TV comedy ONLY FOOL AND HORSES.
