It hasn't worked out between Marilyn Manson and Dita Von Teese.

The shock-rocker has been served with divorce papers by his burlesque-dancing wife, ending a beautiful marriage which lasted just over one year.

"Irreconcilable differences" were cited as the reason for the split between the once-happy couple, whose real names are Heather Sweet and Brian Warner.

"She moved out of the house and he hasn't even noticed. He's not been responsive. She loved him so much, but he has too many demons," an insider told Page Six magazine.

Reports suggest that alcoholism on Manson's part have caused the breakup, which is rumoured to have taken place on Christmas Eve.

The pair had been married in the gothic equivalent of a glitzy wedding in Ireland in December 2005.

Manson's band scored their only chart number one in the US four years ago with The Golden Age of Grotesque, which reached number four in the UK. Their highest charting UK single is the aptly-named Tainted Love, which reached number five in 2002.
