JOHNNY DEPP - DEPP WANTS ORIGINAL ROLE REPRISAL

JOHNNY DEPP is eager to return to the role that made him famous - in a film version of TV cop show 21 JUMP STREET. The Pirates Of The Caribbean star shot to fame as Officer Tom Hanson Jr. in the Fox TV series - which was cancelled shortly after Depp's departure. Depp says, "What a great idea (playing the role in a movie version)! Why don't I just go back and play the same part - at 44. "That'd be interesting. I could play the same character I played 20 years ago with people whispering, 'Is he out of his mind? He's really old, but he thinks he's still twenty-something.' I'd love to do that!"
