PATRICK DEMPSEY - DEMPSEY READY FOR RURAL LIFE IN MAINE

Actor PATRICK DEMPSEY's popular role as DR DEREK `MCDREAMY' SHEPHERD, on GREY'S ANATOMY has afforded him and his family the chance to plan an escape from Hollywood. The hunky star has used his growing fortune to purchase the house he always dreamed of owning while growing up in Maine - the farmhouse next door to his mother - and now he insists that's where he'll head to once his stint as one of TV's top doctors ends. He says, "I grew up on a country road. I bought the house I always dreamed about living in as a kid. "When I did it, I felt a huge shift in my psyche. I got the keys, and I walked through the empty space and thought, 'If it all goes to hell, I have a place to live.' It gives you peace of mind."
