DEGENERES TURNS SERIOUS TO COMBAT AIDS
Funny woman ELLEN DeGENERES turned serious with girlfriend PORTIA DI ROSSI at the weekend (15JUL06) when they co-hosted a star-studded Hollywood African AIDS fundraiser. Another celebrity couple, HEATH LEDGER and MICHELLE WILLIAMS, CHRISTINA RICCI and former ER star NOAH WYLE were among the guests, who helped to raise $400,000 (GBP222,200) at the charity poolside party. DeGeneres was thrilled with the cash raised and insists it will all go to aiding the health crisis in Uganda: "Every 15 seconds a child is orphaned by AIDS. "These people are losing their homes, they have no medical supplies."

Yeah, the money will eventually go straight into the hands of the warlords. The
money should be spent on birth control for those people. The REAL problem over
there is the damned Catholic Church who tells them that condoms and abortion is
an evil sin! Yet they still screw like rabbits even when they know they won't
be able to feed their babies!
