Controversial movie DEATH OF A PRESIDENT won the International Emmy Award for Best TV Movie/Mini-Series on Monday (19Nov07). The British film attracted strong criticism for featuring doctored footage of the fictitious assassination of U.S. leader George W. Bush and was snubbed by America's biggest cinema chain, Regal Entertainment Group, when it was released late last year (06). Elsewhere at the industry event in New York, Poland won its first prize in the 35-year history of the International Emmy Awards, collecting Best Children's Programme for The Magic Tree.
