KORN - DAVIS APPLAUDS EX-BANDMATE FOR GETTING HELP
KORN frontman JONATHAN DAVIS has applauded former bandmate BRIAN 'HEAD' WELCH for turning his back on the lifestyle that was killing him and finding the strength to get clean.
Welch quit the group in 2005 to follow a religious calling, and the guitarist has just released a new book chronicling his journey from drugged-up rock star to devout born-again Christian.
And Davis, who entered into a war or words with Welch shortly after the guitarist quit, admits he's glad his old friend got the help he needed and turned his life around.
The singer says, "At least now he's in a better place. Good for him, I'm glad he got the help he needed.
"I tried everything possible in my power to help him but he was just in hell. And so we just had to watch him crumble.
"We didn't know the extent of his drug bulls**t at the time... It turns out Head was f**ked up on methamphetamine from the time I joined the band to the time he f**king left."
