THE KINKS - DAVIES THREATENS TO PEE ON AWARD

LATEST: THE KINKS frontman RAY DAVIES caused a stir at a Broadcast Music Inc (BMI) award presentation on Tuesday night (03OCT06), when he threatened to use his trophy as a toilet. Davies accepted the Icon Award for his "unique and indelible influence on generations of music-makers" at a London ceremony. And although the YOU REALLY GOT ME hitmaker has a room in his home dedicated to housing his many trophies, Davies admitted the Icon Award's unusual form had inspired him to use it in his bedroom. He says, "It's interesting, getting a bucket instead of a statue. I might put this one under the bed and use it as a potty."
