CLAIRE DANES - DANES HASSLED GERVAIS FOR EXTRAS ROLE

Actress CLAIRE DANES was devastated when British comedian RICKY GERVAIS turned her down for a role in TV show EXTRAS. The 28-year-old actress was left star-struck after meeting The Office creator on the set of movie Stardust, and begged the funnyman to appear on his hit comedy. But Gervais failed to take Danes up on her offer. She says, "I tried to hassle my way into Extras, but he wasn't having it. Even if that was as forward as I've ever been with anyone."
