CYRUSES NAME FREED EAGLETS
MILEY CYRUS and her father BILLY RAY CYRUS are soaring to new heights after naming two protected bald eaglets which have been released to the wilds of the stars' native Tennessee.
Officials at the American Eagle Foundation asked the celebrity bird lovers to name the 14-week old babies, which were born in an artificial nesting tower located on Douglas Lake in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains.
The Hannah Montana star used her birth middle name, Hope, for one of the birds of prey, while her father opted for Tennessee as the name for the other eaglet.
Miley Cyrus has since changed her name to Miley Ray Cyrus.
The birds were released into the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains in Pigeon Forge on Wednesday (23Jul08). A group of Miley Cyrus fans were on hand to help set the eagles free.
AEF founder and president Al Cecere says, "This is yet another step in our efforts to fully bring back eagles to our nation's lands, waterways and skies."
