CULTURE LEADER DEAD AT 57

Reggae star JOSEPH HILL has died in Berlin, Germany during his group CULTURE's European tour. He was 57. The cause of the singer/songwriter's death on Saturday (19AUG06) was still a mystery as WENN went to press. His bandmates plan to continue with the tour, recruiting Hill's son KENYATTA as the new frontman. During his 30 years with the traditional roots group, the Jamaican star, a devout Rastafarian, wrote and performed reggae classics like I'M NOT ASHAMED and TWO SEVENS CLASH. He was honoured by the Jamaican government in 2005 for his contribution to the island's culture.
