CRYSTAL CASTLES AND WHITE LIES CONFIRMED FOR NME BIG GIG
Rising stars Crystal Castles and White Lies have been added to the lineup for the Shockwaves NME awards Big Gig, it has been announced.
Having been announced as the next recipients of the Godlike Geniuses prize at the 2009 NME awards, the Cure will play a show at the O2 Arena in London in February, it was revealed last months.
And now Canadian electro duo Crystal Castles and west London gloom merchants White Lies have been confirmed as the support acts on February 26th.
Crystal Castles' frontwoman Alice Glass topped the NME Cool List earlier this year, with her crazed onstage antics making her a new entry into the influential list, headed last year by Gallows' Frank Carter.
And White Lies were this month included in the BBC's Sound of 2009 longlist, which predicts the artists most likely to break into the mainstream next year.
Next on the line up for the Shockwaves NME awards Big Gig are very special guests who are still to be announced.
For last year's Shockwaves NME awards Big Gig, Godlike Genius winners the Manic Street Preachers were supported by Kaiser Chiefs, Bloc Party, the Cribs and Johnny Marr.
Tickets for the Shockwaves NME awards Big Gig are priced at £30 and are on sale now.
