TOM CRUISE - CRUISE'S PLAN FOR THE BIRDCAGE SEQUEL

TOM CRUISE and producing partner PAULA WAGNER are to make a sequel to the 1996 classic The Birdcage.
The Hollywood actor's studio United Artists will produce the second installment of the MGM film about a gay cabaret owner and his drag queen boyfriend who act heterosexual in a bid to impress their son's future in-laws.
Wagner told an MGM conference, "We are in the early stages of making a sequel to the Birdcage."
The Birdcage, starring Robin Williams and Nathan Lane as the gay couple, was a comedy remake of 1978 French movie La Cage Aux Folles (The Cage Of Fools).
